The Biodata Developers Network of the Wellcome Sanger Institute, and ELIXIR / EMBL-EBI, together with RITrainPlus, are organising a knowledge-exchange workshop on ‘Artificial Intelligence Competencies: training challenges and needs of research infrastructures and core facilities’. We wish to identify the various roles supporting the implementation of AI for its use in research, the necessary skills of the staff involved, and the current training methods and gaps in resources of organisations implementing AI for research. This will be an interactive workshop where attendees will actively participate through discussions, group work or short presentations.
The workshop will take place on 25-27 February 2025 at the Wellcome Genome Campus. Registration is free of cost. Travel and accommodation is not included. A limited number of travel bursaries will be available.
The application deadline is Wednesday 11 December 2024. Applicants will be selected on a first-come first-served basis, taking into account a balanced participation of members from different RIs, CFs and projects. We will review applications on a rolling basis to select suitable candidates until the 20 places available are filled. A waiting list will be established if needed. Applicants may be contacted about their acceptance at the workshop before the closing date. All applicants will be contacted latest on Monday 16 December 2024.
